Description: Los resultados de las investigaciones geológicas-económicas del INGEMMET, conjuntamente con la información de revistas especializadas, han permitido elaborar una nueva versión del Mapa Metalogenético del Perú a escala 1:3'000,000. El mapa muestra 23 franjas metalogenéticas, en diversos ambientes geotectónicos y controladas por sistemas de fallas regionales. Cada franja registra el tipo de yacimiento, tipo de metal, edad de mineralización, entre otras características. La mayoría de los sistemas de fallas que controlan las franjas metalogenéticas en el centro y sur del Perú, tienen orientaciones preferenciales NO-SE y en forma secundaria NE-SO y N-S.El mapa comprende 23 franjas metalogenéticas, se modificaron 5 franjas metalogenéticas en el sector norte en función a su extensión y tipo de elemento reconocido, estas franjas son las siguientes:Franja I: Depósitos de Au en rocas meta-sedimentarias del Ordovícico y Silúrico-DevónicoFranja II: Depósitos orogénicos de Au-Pb-Zn-Cu del Carbonífero-Pérmico.Franja III: Depósitos U-W-Sn-Mo, Au-Cu-Pb-Zn relacionados con intrusivos y pórfidos skarn Cu-Ag del Pérmico Triásico.Franja VI: Pórfidos y skarns de Cu-Au del Jurasico superior.Franja XIV: Depósitos de Au-Cu-Pb-Zn relacionados con intrusivos del Eoceno1. LEYENDA:La leyenda incluye la representación gráfica aplicable a la producción metálica en toneladas finas por franjas, tipo de elemento económico, tamaño de depósito, así como una clasificación por operaciones, proyectos, prospectos mineros y tipo de yacimientos.
